Some results on the uniqueness of direct sum decompositions of modules

We are going to discuss some recent results on the uniqueness of direct sum decompositions of modules and on Krull-Schmidt type theorems. In particular, we shall show that classes of modules with semilocal endomorphism rings give rise to Krull monoids.
