CAUL and CEMAT
CEMAT (Center for Computational and Stochastic Mathematics), created in October 2013, is a R & D unit that resulted from the merging of the following two units currently financed by FCT:
- Center for Mathematics and its Applications (CEMAT/IST)
- Center for Algebra of the University of Lisbon (CAUL)
The Center for Mathematics and its Applications is affiliated with Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), a Science and Engineering School that is the largest school of the University of Lisboa (ULisboa).
The Center for Algebra of the University of Lisbon is affiliated with the Faculty of Sciences of ULisboa (FCUL), a well established Faculty of Sciences, which is the second largest school of ULisboa.
CEMAT activities are fully aligned with ULisboa's strategic goal of reinforcing cooperation between its schools and foster research of multidisciplinary nature.
